Living Beaujolais in Blacé

On Saturday, June 14th, 2025, a singular event will take place in the village of Blacé, in the heart of the Beaujolais region. This is not your typical wine tasting or tourist attraction—it’s a deep, joyful immersion into the world of the Vigneron·ne·s du Vivant en Beaujolais, a collective of winemakers who work with nature, not against it.

At the Ferme des Terres Vivantes, these winegrowers will share their vision of agroecology, biodiversity, and community. Through wine, food, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, they invite you to see what “living Beaujolais” really means.

Who are the Vigneron·ne·s du Vivant?

The name translates roughly to “Winemakers of the Living World.” It’s not just poetic—it’s their mission.

This collective of 25 Beaujolais domaines is united by a philosophy rooted in agroecological farming. Their vineyards are cultivated using organic or biodynamic practices, often incorporating:

  • Soil regeneration and cover crops
  • Agroforestry and polyculture
  • Zero synthetic inputs
  • Respect for biodiversity and natural cycles

Their wines—vivid, expressive, and unfiltered—reflect this commitment to working with life, rather than trying to control it. It’s not just wine—it’s part of a living system.

A day of wine, Nature and togetherness

Over 60 cuvées from the collective will be available to taste. To guide visitors, the wines are grouped into seven thematic stations, highlighting different terroirs, winemaking styles, and philosophies. Expect everything from vibrant natural pét-nats to structured crus like Morgon or Régnié.

Tastings are self-guided but with winemakers present to talk, share, and pour.

A seasonal lunch by Les Moblots

At noon, enjoy a communal lunch in the fields. The menu is crafted by Chef Nicolas Guigui, from the acclaimed Les Moblots restaurant, known for its commitment to local and organic ingredients.

🥗 The menu (€25 per person):

  • A brioche bun sandwich (choice of): Chicken from Ain, Homemade pork sausage or Falafel made with local chickpeas
  • Cheese from Ferme du Bois-Denis (organic)
  • Hazelnut and chocolate cookie from the Ferme des Terres Vivantes
  • One glass of wine (your choice)

This isn’t fine dining—it’s honest food that tells a story, rooted in the Beaujolais soil.

A full day of rural life

🐓 Activities and Animations

The event is also family-friendly and designed to educate as much as entertain. Throughout the day, enjoy:

  • A local farmers’ market with regional products
  • Guided tours explaining agroecological practices
  • Hands-on activities for kids focused on nature and food
  • A bread-baking demonstration at 10:00 am
  • A blacksmithing demonstration at 6:00 pm
  • Live bagpipe music as the sun sets over the vines

No gimmicks. Just people, nature, and a shared passion for living things.

Why this event matters

For too long, Beaujolais has been reduced in the public eye to Beaujolais Nouveau. But the region is so much more—rich in terroirs, culture, and ecological renewal.

The Vigneron·ne·s du Vivant represent the new face of Beaujolais: thoughtful, regenerative, and deeply local. Their event is a way of saying:
Wine isn’t just what’s in the bottle—it’s everything behind it.
